It’s been years since the first Assassin’s Creed was released. Back in the days it was a true discovery for lots of gamers. Among my game friends I still have those who call the first Assassin the best one in the series. Well, probably they are right, to some extend, but I definitely enjoyed Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Assassin’s Creed III that told us a story about American revolution and Assassin’s Creed Black Flag – the one that made you an honorable pirate. The whole line is great, even though it continues the story of silent assassins who killed people for money, for surviving or for revenge. The great thing about Assassin’s Creed games is that you can pick whatever period you enjoy the most and walk the streets of those ancient cities that seem to be truly interesting. The good news is that in the closest future you will be able to walk and jump the streets of revolutionary Paris in the upcoming title Assassin’s Creed Unity.
For about 3 years game developers from Ubisoft have been working on the new Assassin’s Creed game and what I can tell so far, they did amazing job. Ubisoft took all the best from the previous Assassin’s Creed games and added lots of new stuff so that even a careless person who hates the idea of medieval or revolution parkour, would play the game. I was really excited to play Assassin’s Creed Black Flag because there is no game like this one that offers amazing sea battles combined with assassin missions. But now I have another game that I can’t stop thinking of and that blows my mind every time I watch its trailer and the game is called Assassin’s Creed Unity.
Assassin’s Creed Unity Has amazing Graphics
According to the sources, Assassin’s Creed Unity will be released by the end of this year for all available platforms, which includes Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and 4 and PC, of course. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 together with PC users will be able to experience the true next generation engine that is a core of Assassin’s Creed Unity. Based on the trailers and some gameplay videos I can tell for sure that the game will look like nothing you’ve seen before. It’s so good that it’s almost like playing a movie. Every place in Paris is so realistic that sometimes it feels like you are watching a documentary about revolution times.
But graphics in Assassin’s Creed Unity is not the only thing that will surprise you. The whole atmosphere in the city is very true to life. During and before the revolution people were very poor and the city itself was very dirty. Mud, blood, excrements and fish remains floated the city and the smell was horrible. So, whenever you decide to take your assassin for a walk in the darkest corners of Paris, be sure to prepare him for surprises. I know that this is, probably, not the best promotion for the game but trust me – except for some crazy tricks assassins can do, people, Paris and its streets look just the way they are supposed to look.
Especially, the contrast is felt when you leave the poor districts and come out to the main streets with majestic residences and Notre-Dame de Paris. You will definitely spend a minute or two by simply staring at the buildings because they look awesome. Not beautiful awesome but “Oh my God!” awesome. And, of course, you will be able to climb all of them. That’s the magic of Assassin’s Creed – the best travel guide to the ancient cities.
Assassin’s Creed Unity and the New Features
Beside the truly amazing graphic, you will get one of those crazy things that everyone has been asking for since Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Instead of pretty OK but not that good multiplayer you will have a totally working coop mode. And yes, it means that you will gain an opportunity to play with your friends from all over the world and complete single player campaign with the help of other assassins. Isn’t that great? Sure, now you will have to fight for the target and make sure that you illuminate another marquise and not your brothers in arms but that is an issue of a very personal interest.
From what I can tell from the trailers and gameplay, having someone covering your back is a true treasure. Nothing can beat that. While you deal with the guards on the Eastern side, your assassin friend will do that on the Western. Things get really cool and impressive when you are inside a building and one of your assassin brother takes down a soldier right before he alarms the rest. It’s better to see that scene once than to talk about it a hundred times. But, I am pretty sure that when the game becomes available, you will have a plenty of great moments playing with your friend and they will be even better than those shown in the trailer. By all means – I will do the same.
It feels like the word Unity in the Assassin’s Creed title appeared for a reason. Sure, you will still have an opportunity to play solo and receive all the credit, but playing with a friend assassin is much more fun. Unity goes for united, which means – together. I noticed that for some reason I am a loner myself and enjoy to be responsible for all my deeds. But, my experience of playing Dead Space 3 in cooperative was great and it started a new era of gaming for me. So, even if you can’t stand playing with someone, just give it a try. Sometimes, it can be a pain in the lower part of your body but sometimes it can be the best thing one can imagine.
Conclusions on Assassin’s Creed Unity
Some gamers would say that Ubisoft did what they usually do and simply renamed the Assassin’s Creed title and sent the silent killer to another city. Well, my dear haters, this time you are wrong. Assassin’s Creed Unity is not just another game about parkour and killing, it’s a big step forward in gaming industry. Partially, because of great graphics that keeps getting better and better with every step you make, but mostly because everything you do looks very realistic. Ubisoft has changed the moving technique and now they look very human-like. The very same thing happened with the world around and enemies you are forced to face. Now they think different and act very unpredictable.
As a pleasant present, Ubisoft kept the tradition and added another great weapon to the assassin’s arsenal. In Assassin’s Creed III it was the hanging rope, in Black Flag it was the stealth blade and in Assassin’s Creed Unity it is going to be… well, you will find that out for yourself. Though, if you can’t wait, please, enjoy the official Assassin’s Creed Unity trailer. It will share the secret and will make you feel excited about the future game release. Right now, you can preorder Assassin’s Creed Unity on Steam for $38.00 USD or Assassin’s Creed Unity Gold for $52.90 USD (without discount it will cost you $58.80). Prices may vary depending on your geographical location.
